Getting ShortCut to Work with Vista / Windows 7

Shortcut is a keyboard logging software program that expands text while typing.  Windows Vista has new security features that are enabled by default, which may prevent Shortcut from operating.

The workaround is to disable the UAC (User Account Control).

Go to Control Panel, and open User Accounts. You will see an option to "Turn User Account Control on or off". Click this.
Uncheck the UAC box and click OK to save the changes. You will need to reboot the computer after changing this setting.

Further, when starting ShortCut for Windows, right-click on the icon and select "Run as Administrator". You will need administrator credentials to do this.

Note: For Windows 7, the User Acocunt Control is a slider. Set it to the lowest value and restart.
